Coronation Street’s Sinead Tinker to lose cancer battle as Katie McGlynn ‘quits’

Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn is reportedly set to leave her role as Sinead Tinker.

Fans have been gripped by the popular character's cervical cancer battle in recent weeks, but now The Sun reports that things are tragically set to get worse for Sinead.

While doctors told her during tonight's show that she currently has nothing to worry about, the tables are reportedly about to dramatically turn.

The publication claim that she is to be given a terminal diagnosis in upcoming episodes, and will then be faced with the devastating decision of whether to die at home or in a hospice.

A TV insider said: “From her two rocky relationships to the mini-bus crash, she’s been in some of Corrie’s most captivating storylines.

“And producers will be sad to see Katie leave the soap, but she will make an unforgettable departure which is set to leave viewers in tears.”

Fans have been speculating Katie's exits for months, but her character's terminal diagnosis means there is no going back.

The news of Sinead's diagnosis is sure to rock Wetherfield – particularly Daniel Osbourne, who has been supporting her since her diagnosis.
