Coronation Street fans thrilled as Jude Appleton leaves the cobbles after hitting mum Mary Taylor

The compulsive liar – who is played by actor Paddy Wallace in the ITV soap – left Weatherfield in tonight's episode after he was exposed for his lies, and hitting his mum Mary Taylor.

As Angie ended their marriage once and for all, Jude lost his temper again.

"This is typical of you, you've been waiting for a chance to get out and now you've got one," he told her unleashing on his wife and mother.

"I've done everything to keep this family together while you and you try to pull it apart.

"Like legs off a spider and I'm a spider and all that's left of me is my head."

He still tried to defend his actions, with Angie calling him "either mad or deluded".

"In love, I was desperate," he cried at her as she told him to pack his bags and get out for good.

"You're going to have to stand on your own two feet, I've done everything I can for you but enough is enough," Mary told him.

Unfortunately when he did leave, he took baby George with him, terrifying Angie and Mary who ran through the streets trying to find him.

However Roy had managed to see him and convince him to hand George over.

And when Mary asked him where Jude had gone, he told her: "I'm afraid he wouldn't say but it does appear he isn't coming back."

Viewers were utterly thrilled at Jude leaving, but The Sun Online can reveal that he will return, which doesn't bode well for Mary or Angie.
