Chris Moyles became the latest celebrity to leave the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! jungle on Thursday. As he joined Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly for his exit interview, the radio legend admitted he was “gutted” he had been voted out before Matt Hancock.

Sitting down, he told the Geordie duo: “I’m gutted Matt Hancock is more popular than me. What the bejeezus is going on?”

“Also, can we fly through this because I want to get my girlfriend’s outfit on camera to put it through expenses.”

In his first interview since leaving the jungle, Chris hit out at Matt for signing up to the show.

Chris told Radio X: “I don’t know what’s been in the show….I was venting quite a lot when he first came in.

“I’ll just say he should be at work, because he’s an MP and he’s paid to look after people and their interests and hopefully make their lives better and I don’t know how he does that by going on the jungle show.

“And then there was a moment when we got into a conversation about him and it got quite tense, which I accidentally started by being a smartass and going ‘So when’s your book out’ and he went next month and I didn’t know he had a book out!

“And the reason I got I got annoyed with him was because Seann did something in his personal life that got thrown all over the newspapers and didn’t impact my life whatsoever, has had a really, really hard time career wise, and mental health wise since.”

“He was very open about it, and has come on the show to basically to say I’m really not a bad guy, can I start again which is really honest and takes a lot of balls,” he continued.

Chris Moyles says he’s ‘devastated’ over BGT

“And Matt Hancock kind of dived around a few questions I thought, and then said, ‘I guess all I’m just asking for is forgiveness.’

“At which point I had to walk out of camp and just get away because I personally found that quite fake and that really wound me up.”

The radio legend revealed he was forced to focus on Matt as a campmate rather than a MP.

He added: “As a campmate he did an amazing job. And as a guy he lives in a different world to you and me. But, he’s a human being.

“There’s Matt Hancock, who I have issues with, and there’s Matt who I was in the jungle with and I know that sounds almost like an excuse.

“But it was the only way that myself and others could deal with that fact.”

I’m A Celebrity viewers have been left divided over Matt’s success in the series.

@nikita_9215 tweeted: “I’m begging people to vote for Seann I don’t need Matt in the final four #ImACeleb.”

@bettyredondo wrote: “@ChrisMoyles verbalising what everyone watching #imaceleb is thinking: WHY is Matt still in the jungle??? Just don’t get it at all !”

@SueLindsay7 agreed: “Are the public maybe just a little confused? Do they think they’re voting for who they want to evict, not save? Really, how else do you explain Matt Hancock still being in camp? #ImaCeleb #baffled.”

However, @Rachel27Davis remarked: “It’s a game show! Chris Moyles did nothing but moan and groan. He knew what he was signing up for. All it’s shown is he is a poor loser. At least Matt Hancock is getting stuck in whatever you may think of him.  #ImaCeleb.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues on ITV on Friday at 9pm.
