Chernobyl viewers stunned as they spot EastEnders villain Trevor Morgan in the buff as actor Alex Ferns joins the cast of Sky Atlantic drama

CHERNOBYL viewers were stunned to see former EastEnders actor Alex Ferns appear nude in the hit series.

The new drama from Sky Atlantic tells the story of the catastrophic nuclear disaster at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in 1986.

50-year-old Alex – famous for playing villain Trevor in the BBC soap – portrays Glukhov, the chief of miners working in the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster.

He leads his colleagues into rebellion by stripping completely nude after bosses refused to let miners use fans despite intense heat.

Chernobyl has proved to be a huge hit for Sky Atlantic viewers, having beaten both Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad to become the highest-rated show ever on IMDb.

Viewers flocked to social media to comment on Alex Fern's shock appearance.

One put: "Caught up with Chernobyl and I never thought I'd see Trevor from EastEnders' penis but here we are."

Another commented: "Loving Trevor from EastEnders turning up in Chernobyl. It looks like he will end up dying of radiation poisoning and given his treatment of Little Mo, I have no sympathy."

A third tweeted: "For all the gripping tension, horrific makeup, and foreboding horror of Chernobyl, the highlight was definitely Trevor from EastEnders wandering about with his c*** out."

Chernobyl dramatises the events that took place in Ukraine in 1986 – before and after the nuclear accident on 25–26 April 1986 that resulted in the death of 28 people.

During the accident, steam-blast effects caused two deaths within the facility – one immediately after the explosion, and the other compounded by a lethal dose of radiation.

As the drama unfolds the culture of lies that led to the disaster is exposed and the drama follows physicist and chief of commission investigating the disaster, Valery Legasov.
