Great British Bake Off’s judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood have come under fire for their criticism over popular contestant Jurgen’s signature bake on Tuesday’s instalment of the Channel 4 show. Jurgen was clearly disappointed with his caramel tart and the judges’ harsh comments so the German baker’s fans took to Twitter calling for the judges to “apologise” for their remarks.
The theme of the most recent instalment of the popular baking series was caramel which proved to be difficult for many of the contestants.
One baker who struggled with his caramel tart in the signature challenge was fan-favourite Jurgen.
Fans were up in arms over the judges’ savage comments about Jurgen’s tart, with Megan tweeting: “Prue, go back and apologise right now.”
