A Place In The Sun star halts video several times as she gets emotional

Laura Hamilton made an emotional appearance on Instagram today – just days after suffering a heartbreaking family loss.

The A Place in the Sun presenter, 38, took to the photo-sharing app to thank her fans for their kind messages, after receiving some sad news just hours after she touched now in Crete to film the upcoming series of the property show.

Earlier this week, the mum-of-two revealed her beloved grandfather, fondly called Pops, passed away aged 89 – just as she arrived on the Greek Island.

She opened up about her family member, admitting she's "emotional and incredibly sad" following his passing.

Following her heartfelt post, which saw her discuss her close relationship with her grandfather, Laura uploaded a short video, confessing she's "trying to keep positive" but had to film her video message several times due to being overcome with emotion.

"Hi everyone, I've actually tried to record this message now several times and got quite emotional," she said.

"I just want to say thank you to you all for your kind words and messages about my Pops."

Following a few days break from social media, she added: "You obviously now understand why I've been quite quiet on my stories 'cause I'm normally posting all the time.

"But not really felt up to doing that but I am trying to keep positive, Pops loved A Place in the Sun."

Elsewhere in the video, Laura, who shares son Rocco, six, and daughter Tahlia, five, with her husband Alex Goward, looked on the brighter side, and discussed what viewers can expect from the upcoming episodes of the show.

She signed off: "Thank you all for your support. I've read all the messages and they mean so much."
