Wes Nelson takes swipe at Megan Barton Hanson as he gushes over Arabella Chi

Love Island hunk Wes Nelson has opened up about the problems he faced when dating Megan Barton-Hanson.

The couple coupled up during Love Island 2018 before splitting earlier this year during Wes' successful stint on Dancing On Ice.

Chatting exclusively to Daily Star Online at the launch of The Couture Club's new Westfield Stratford store, Wes said: "Yes the break-up was messy but it's only a reflection how things were during the relationship as well.

"Me and Arabella [Chi] are so good.

"Honestly, my friends and family say I am so much more relaxed now and less on edge than I was in my past relationship.

"We are so relaxed around each other. I am so better natured."

Explaining how his jam-packed schedule caused tensions and paranoia in his romance with Megan, Wes continued: "There is so much unreliability in our diaries.

"With my job it could be that at the last minute I get called away to do something and in my past relationship that would have caused a problem but now with this one it is so much more chilled.

"We both totally understand that. We just make it work."

Gushing over his new girlfriend, Wes added: "She's amazing.

"I think because Arabella has ten years experience as a model in the industry she is used to it and totally understands how things are."

Founded by Ex On The Beach star Ross Worswick and business partner Scott Shashua, The Couture Club has transformed itself into one of the biggest and fastest growing brands in the UK.

Earlier this summer the business duo signed up Love Island player Michael Griffiths to front their latest collection.

The former Fireman, who famously ditched eventual winner Amber Gill after a ill-fated trip to Casa Amor, is believed to be following in Ross' footsteps at taking part in the upcoming series of Ex On The Beach.

A source previously said: "Michael was one of the stand out stars on this year's Love Island thanks to his love triangle with Amber and Joanna."

They added to The Sun: He's had a lot of female attention since leaving the villa but hasn't found that special someone.

"He's hoping this show will help fix that."
