Slowthai leaves NME Awards following altercation during Hero of The Year win

British rapper Slowthai appeared to have a heated exchange with a fan who slammed him while he scooped the Hero of The Year Award at the NME Awards shows at the O2 Brixton.

The 25-year-old star was halfway through his acceptance speech on the stage when a member of the audience shouted at him, resulting the rapper throwing a glass of champagne into the crowd.

Slowthai, real name Tyron Kaymone Frampton, responded: "Thank you for ruining my speech, thank you very much. Wasteman."

An audience member then threw two items at the Deal Wiv It hitmaker, which is when Slowthai walked towards the edge of the stage.

He went on to throw his own drink into the crowd before hopping off the stage and had to be held back by security.

Daily Star Online has approached Slowthai's representatives for comment.
