Karol G is back with a brand-new track, and she brought fellow global stars Anuel AA and J Balvin along for the ride.
In the Colombian singer’s newest music video, “Location,” the song starts out with Karol G zooming in a casual desert-bound drag race while wearing a paisley-printed bandana top, matching headband, and distressed baggy denim. From there, the singer meets up with her crew of dancers as the song transitions from a mellow opening to an underlying country-twang beat (reminiscent of Nelly’s 2001 hit “Ride wit Me”) in the Colin Tilley–directed visuals.
And the head-turning fashion looks just don’t stop. Karol G collaborated with renowned celebrity stylist Zerina Akers (who has curated Beyoncé’s most memorable fashion moments in recent years), and the pair weren’t afraid to experiment with an array of western-inspired ensembles. In one wide shot, Karol G, who shows off an impressive choreography sequence, switches into a fringe-trimmed cropped jacket, thigh-high leather boots, and a coordinating cowgirl hat, with matching glitter eye makeup for good measure.
“I like to give my fans a unique experience with every single release, both musically and visually,” said Karol G in a statement following the video’s release. “‘Location’ is a very special song for me because I was able to collaborate with artists that I admire and we were able to fuse reggaeton/hip-hop/country influences into an amazing song and video filled with energy and rodeo vibes!”
“Location” marks Karol G’s follow-up to her smash single “Bichota,” which was heralded as one of last year’s biggest Latin releases with 975 million combined streams and certified five-times platinum by the RIAA.
