DOI judge Oti Mabuse’s life with husband – Strictly set-up to dream wedding

South African beauty and dancing sensation Oti Mabuse waltzed onto our screens in 2015 as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing.

She went on to replace Rita Ora as a panelist on a brand new ITV show, The Masked Dancer UK for a short stint before taking the judges seat on Dancing On Ice.

But behind the cameras, the 31-year-old shares her passion for dance with her Romanian professional dancer husband Marius Iepure.

After tying the knot in 2014, the pair enjoyed a whirlwind romance and have taken home a slew of trophies together. Here's everything you need to know about the dancing duo…

Strictly Set Up

Many will be surprised to know that Oti and husband Marius were introduced by another beloved member of the Strictly family – Oti's eldest sister and judge on the show, Motsi Mabuse!

After Oti moved from her native South Africa to Germany to pursue her dance career, her beloved sister Motsi out forward a selection of potential dancer partners for her the pair up with.

Marius proved to be Oti's top choice and the talented pair not only won the German National Show Dance Championships and finished second at the World Latin Championships but also fell in love, going on to tie the knot in 2014.

She said of their meeting: “My first try out in Germany was with this guy.

“We started dancing and 10 years later I married him,” she added to Telegraph’s Stella Magazine.

They tied the knot after a short 8-month engagement as Marius began starring in Germany's answer to Strictly, Let's Dance, which he appeared in for two seasons.

Oti has previously spoken about her anxiety about marrying Marius so quickly, saying in an interview: "[Eight months] do you think that's too soon? That is how the dance world works.

“You meet someone, you move in straight away together. It goes boom.”

Dancing Bond

The pairs commitment to dance has allowed their relationship to blossom and seen the go on to win a slew of titles together.

After the professional ballroom dancers met in Germany during a dance trial, they went on to compete in several competitions together, winning gold at the German National Show Dance Championships and placing second at the World Latin Championships.

Oti went on to bring home the Glitterball trophy twice On Strictly Come Dancing, once with Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and the second time with comedian Bill Bailey, where her Romanian husband Marius appeared as a backing dancer in 2017.

She has since been a panellist on The Masked Dancer and became a judge on Dancing on Ice earlier this year, stealing the show as she replaced John Barrowman.

Dream Wedding

Marius proposed to Oti on his birthday in 2014 and they tied the knot the same year in Denmark before throwing another party in South Africa, which her mother planned.

In 2017 Oti shared a sweep throwback message to her hubby, recalling the moment she said I do.

Captioning a photo, she said: "Three years ago today this wonderful CRAZY man was annoying the life out of me because he was acting nervous (and yes I let him know I was annoyed) but it was only because he was nervous as he was GOING TO PROPOSE.

"Not only that but he did it at midnight on his birthday @mariusiepure I love you baby and wish you a great day in strictly rehearsals (sounds new) let's dance!!!"

The pair currently do not have any children, but they have openly spoken about how they would one day like to start a family.
