Busted fans – prepare yourselves! The band have a new album coming, and they’ve promised it’s a throwback to their old style of music.
The group originally released two albums before splitting in 2005. After reuniting in 2015, they released album Night Driver, a huge departure from the tracks that made them famous like ‘Year 3000’ and ‘What I Go To School For’.
But the group have promised they have returned to their roots for their upcoming fourth album.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy at Nickelodeon’s SlimeFest, Matt Willis said: “I don’t really know what I’m allowed to say. I’m really bad at this.
“We made an album that we love. We got to the studio and thought what a Busted album would sound like if it was made now, then we made it.
“It’s got really fun songs that make us smile and we really hope our fans enjoy it for what it is. I don’t know if it fits in to todays requirement, I don’t really care. We made something we love and we hope our fanbase will love.”
He added: “It’s really different from the last one. The last one was a departure and we really experimented, we hadn’t been in a room all together for 10 years so it was about writing what we could all agree on that we liked.
“But this album was like, okay, we’ve done that now lets go and make the best f**king Busted album we can.”
James Bourne added: “We’re really excited about it – honestly it’s a really sick album. It’s got really cool guitars.
“We’ve done everything that everyone else has stopped doing. We’ve used guitars, it’s not EDM, which a lot of people are doing nowadays. We’ve gone back to our roots as a band and made a rock album.”
