Avengers 4 is directly connected to Ant-Man and the Wasp, star Michael Douglas has confirmed.
The actor, who plays Hank Pym in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, briefly teased that the events of the Avengers: Infinity War sequel will be partly brought about by the Quantum Realm, which Paul Rudd’s character Scott Lang / Ant-Man was seen stranded inside at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Of course, Hank – along with Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) – was killed by Thanos’ finger-snap after the Big Bad collected all of the infinity stones.
In a chat with Ryan Seacrest, Douglas commented on the role the Quantum Realm will play going forward, not only in Avengers 4 but also in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in general.
“Right, that is absolutely true,” he said. “I mean, all of them – I mean, the Quantum Realm, that’s the key. That’s the key.
“The Quantum Realm plays an important part in all the next chapters, I think, of the Marvel films.”
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen (who plays Scarlet Witch) has hinted that things will “get worse” before they get better in Avengers 4, which is rather ominous.
Avengers 4 will be released in the UK on April 26, 2019, and in the US on May 3, 2019. Avengers: Infinity War is out now on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download.
