Manchester United battled back against Newcastle on Saturday after going two goals behind in just ten minutes at Old Trafford.
Chelsea loanee Kenedy opened the scoring for the Magpies before Yoshinori Muto doubled their advantage, prompting a chorus of boos at the break.
But Manchester United returned a rejuvenated team with a point to prove in the second half and delivered the perfect response.
Juan Mata came off the bench to reduce the deficit in 70 minutes before Anthony Martial netted his first Premier League goal of the season. Alexis Sanchez completed the comeback in stoppage time to secure all three points for United.
The result was exactly what the Red Devils needed in what has been a difficult period.
It wasn’t just the three points, which has seen them move up the table, but the way in which the team rallied together to get the win.
One slightly annoying takeaway, from a Manchester United perspective, was the fact that Martial’s goal set the Old Trafford club back more than £7.2million.

The Red Devils parted with £36million up front to land Martial from Monaco back in 2015, but the deal included some lucrative bonuses.
One of these was a goal bonus, which had to be triggered before 2019.
Manchester United agreed to pay Monaco an extra £7.2million the moment the Frenchman netted 25 goals in the Premier League.
Martial had been on 24 for a while, but against Newcastle netted number 25, meaning the Old Trafford club had to part with some cash.
There are currently two more clauses in Martial’s contract that can be triggered.
One of these requires him to make an additional eight appearances for France, and the other requires him to win the Ballon d’Or before 2019.
Both of these appear unlikely, meaning of the possible £57.6million transfer fee, Manchester United will only pay Monaco £43.2million.
