Vicky Pattison on why she said no to Geordie reunion: ‘It didn’t make me happy’

Vicky Pattison was part of the Geordie Shore original cast, not to mention one of the best loved characters for her quick-witted one liners and realness on screen.

So when we caught up with the star, to celebrate her engagement to boyfriend Ercan Ramadan, we had to ask whether she will be returning to the MTV show for the long-anticipated 10-year reunion.

And while we had high hopes, we weren't surprised when she told us rejoining the cast is off the cards as she explained it brought out the "very worst qualities" in her.

"“It’s not for want of them trying,” Vicky, who departed the show in 2014, explained.

"I’ve got a really good relationship with one of the big producers on it and she’s rung me a couple of times with various different scenarios for me to be involved.

"I have spoken so honestly and openly about my experience on Geordie Shore, and I’ll be eternally grateful to it for the platform it’s given me and the life it’s afforded me. It’s a chapter of my life that’s so closed, so done.”

“I didn’t like who I became,” the 34-year-old star added, before she told us she "didn't do well" under the "pressure of the goldfish bowl of it."

"It brought out the very worst qualities in me and I’ve no desire to relive any of it," she said.

"I wish them the absolute best, and I’ve no doubt it’s going to be incredible because they’re all amazing people and brilliant characters. But it didn’t make me happy at all.

“I’m finally in a place where I’m loved and I’m happy and I’ve got great people around me. Why would I take myself back to a time that was traumatic?”

She also told us that being with Ercan, who she got engaged to in February on the beach in Dubai, has made her a "nicer person."

"He is kind and supportive and the nicest person," she said.

"I don’t think people place that quality high enough. He makes me nicer.

“I could be stressed and stroppy and neurotic and high maintenance, but Ercan calms me down. He makes me better and I think that’s the most important part of a relationship. Do they make you a better person? And he does make me one."
