Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross Win Critics Choice Award For ‘Soul’ Score

Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Jon Batiste jointly won this year’s Critics Choice Award for Best Score for the soundtrack to the 2020 Disney-Pixar film Soul.

Reznor and Ross composed a new-age score for the metaphysical segments of the film, while Batiste composed a number of original jazz songs for the film’s New York City-based segments. The soundtrack received critical acclaim as an integral part of the film and also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score.

This is the second Critics Choice Award for Ross and Reznor. The Nine Inch Nails members previously won Best Score for The Social Network.

“Speak Now” from One Night in Miami won this year’s Critics Choice Award for best song.
