The Duke of Cornwall has reportedly reached out to the ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter and offered the services of a Royal physician as husband was diagnosed with Covid-19.
AceShowbiz –Prince Charles supported U.K. TV personality Kate Garraway amid her husband Derek Draper‘s COVID battle.
The “Good Morning Britain” presenter is a carer for her husband Derek, who fell ill with coronavirus in March 2020 and suffered kidney failure, liver, and pancreatic damage.
During his health battle, Derek’s heart stopped beating on several occasions and he battled bacterial pneumonia and fought multiple infections which punctured holes in his lungs.
In her latest book “The Power of Hope“, published in April (21), Kate revealed she “received a letter from a member of the Royal Family, offering the services of a Royal physician.”
“How lovely, I thought, although it seemed utterly surreal,” she penned, while remaining tight lipped on the identity of the mystery sender.
Speaking at the Prince’s Trust awards event on Thursday (21Oct) afternoon, she spoke to Prince Charles about his kindness, confirming he was behind the gesture.
“You might not remember but you were very kind to me because my husband got very sick with COVID after the last Prince’s Trust awards,” she said.
“You wrote to me and gave me help, so thank you very much… and he did improve.”
Kate documented her husband’s plight in her documentary “Finding Derek” earlier this year.
Prince Charles also secretly visited Richard E. Grant and wife Joan Washington amid her battle with cancer earlier this year. She died on September 2 following a battle with stage four lung cancer.
