Noah Cyrus’ daring CMT Awards look is turning heads

Noah Cyrus isn’t shy when it comes to fashion. Like her older sister, Miley, she’s not afraid to show some skin when look calls for it, like when she rocked a silver bikini top over wide-legged pants at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards (via E! News). The younger Cyrus has also shown a preference pairing comfy items with high fashion ones, like when she wore an oversized sweatshirt over thigh-high boots to the same awards in 2017 (via Bustle). But Cyrus really outdid herself with her outfit to at the CMT Awards.

Cyrus performed her song, “This Is Us,” with country artist Jimmie Allen (via CMT). In the song’s music video, Cyrus rocked a rhinestone-studded, skintight bodysuit. She echoed her music video outfit at the CMT Awards, but this time, the rhinestones were arranged in the shape of a string bikini. She paired the bodysuit with thigh-high white pleather boots, white opera gloves, and a white bedazzled cowboy hat. The ensemble coordinated perfectly with Allen’s silver coat and black cowboy hat. If a Cyrus goes to an award show, we know they’ll wear something worth talking about.

How Jimmie Allen ended up singing with Noah Cyrus

Initially, Jimmie Allen wasn’t supposed to sing “This Is Us.” Cyrus, 20, had written the song with Jordan Schmidt, Ilsey Juber, Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II, and Florida Georgia Line member Tyler Hubbard (via Taste of Country). She knew she wanted to record “This Is Us” with another artist, but she wasn’t sure who.

Luckily, Jimmie Allen’s manager, Ash Bowers, knew he’d be the perfect fit for the song, since his music mixes country, pop, and R&B. Allen immediately loved “This Is Us,” which he saw as more than a love song. “I looked at it, not just a relationship, but friendships and stuff I’ve had,” he said. “That lyric, ‘You were just you and I was just me …‘ We were kids and we might have gotten in arguments or fights, but we were trying to figure out who we were. Through all that we remained friends.”

Clearly, listening to “This Is Us,” this musical partnership is something that could last.
