Metallica is set to release a limited-edition vinyl album of “Helping Hands… Live & Acoustic At The Masonic.”
The recording of the rock band’s inaugural Helping Hands Benefit Concert held in San Francisco on November 3 will be available on two discs. The album was mixed by Greg Fidelman and mastered for vinyl by Reuben Cohen at Bernie Grundman Mastering. The acoustic set was a mixture of Metallica songs along with covers of Deep Purple, Nazareth, Bob Seger and Blue Öyster Cult classics.
The album will be available on February 1, 2019 at independent retailers around the world and digital and streaming services with pre-orders beginning November 27 in the Metallica Store.
Metallica had raised about $1.3 million from the acoustic show to benefit their charity, All Within My Hands.
Last year, Metallica had launched All Within My Hands, a foundation that aims to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported them for so many years, as well as encourage participation from fans and friends and facilitate volunteerism among the Metallica family.
