Earlier this week Martel featured as a guest on the first episode of the Build-A-Bond podcast, where she planned her dream Bond film.

Tweeting of her time on the show to her 11,500 followers she opened up about her own experience interviewing the late Bond star Sir Sean Connery.

She wrote: “If you love Bond and you’re looking for a new podcast series, look no further.

“I loved doing @BuildABond007, remembering my interview with Sir Sean – and am shaken (not stirred) to be on the first one. Thanks Fraser and Stuart #Bond.”

Cheeky fans were quick to comment that the Homes Under the Hammer star should “ditch” her role on the daytime classic in pursuit of a part.

One fan wrote: “You should ditch H.U.T.H and become a bond girl, i don’t think they’ve had a red head.[sic]”

Another added: “Agreed Martel is a stunning redhead and would be great Bond girl.”

Although Martel admitted that while she was thankful for the support, she quipped her body wasn’t quite ready.

She responded: “…or with such a wobbly bottom (but thanks).”

Martel also spoke of her connection to 007 star Sean back in October amid the actor’s death.

In a post to her 6,500 followers on Instagram, she wrote: “RIP the legendary Sean Connery. It feels like the end of an era.

“Interviewing him ten years ago in his New York penthouse suite was a dream come true and one of the highlights of my career as a journalist.

“Property runs through my family, from plastering to building homes through the generations.

“It’s in my blood. I can’t wait to get started alongside Martin and Dion.”
