Lucy Alexander appeared on TV today in a repeated episode of BBC One property show Homes Under The Hammer. The 50-year-old presenter could be seen alongside former colleagues Martin Roberts and Dion Dublin, but viewers were more amused by what they could see in the background.
“Getting a lot of attention from this morning’s topiary behind me on today’s #homesunderthehammer,” Lucy wrote online next to a screenshot of the programme.
The trio were standing in a garden of an impressive property, with several large pruned hedges behind them.
Some people thought the shape of the greenery looked phallic.
”Is it Willy Wonka’s house?” one social media follower asked, while another added: “Ooo err.”
“Nice head shot,” another person wrote followed by a laughing emoji.
“Hahaha this filth has cheered me up no end today…” Lucy replied.
“It’s not the size of your bush, it’s what you do with it,” a fourth viewer remarked.
“Exactly mate. How I’ve missed you. Hope you & yours keeping well,” the presenter replied.
Other followers were pleased to see Lucy, who left the programme in 2016, back on screen, and mistakenly thought that she had returned to the show.
“So lovely to see you on TV Lucy today, you’re looking more beautiful,” one fan said.
“U back permanently Lucy?”(sic) another asked.

“Repeats sadly!” the mum-of-two clarified.
Lucy left the show five years ago after 13 years at the helm.
She appeared on screen for an additional two years due to the nature of the filming schedule.
Earlier this month, Lucy’s former co-star Martin launched his very own Property Surgery, offering people one-to-one consolations via video call.
He also regularly answers property queries from people on Twitter.
One user asked him if there had ever been a property on the show that he wished he had bought.
Martin revealed that there was one house that sprung to mind.
“There was a terrible house in an incredible location in Tinmouth, which had 270 degree views out to sea and up the river!” he answered.
