Kylie Minogue has been forced to cancel her scheduled Golden Tour dates for the rest of this month after coming down with an infection.
The pop princess was supposed to be performing at Dublin’s 3Arena tonight and in Belfast’s SSE Arena tomorrow night, but has had to cancel both because of illness.
With just hours to go before fans would be queueing up to get into the arena, Kylie tweeted her apologies for having to pull the concert from her tour.
"Lovers I’m so sorry to let you know that I can’t do tonight’s Dublin or tomorrow’s Belfast shows," she wrote.
"I’ve been trying everything possible to be well enough to perform for you but a throat infection has led to vocal strain."
She went on: "I promise I’ll be back as soon as possible and at 100%. (The Guinness will be on me!) We’re working on rescheduling and more details will follow. I’m so, so sorry to let you down and thank you for your understanding."
3Arena’s official account has retweeted Kylie’s messages but not yet posted details about how fans can get a refund on their tickets.
Just an hour ago, the arena’s Twitter was still directing fans to a site to buy tickets for Kylie’s gig.
The double cancellation means Kylie won’t perform now until November 6, where she’s due to appear in Luxembourg.
It gives her a full month to recover from her throat infection and rest her voice.
The bad luck comes just two weeks after Kylie gushed about being "happier than ever" with her new boyfriend Paul Solomons.
The newly loved up pair looked besotted at the GQ Awards in late September.
Paul, 43, from Caerphilly in South Wales, is the mag’s creative director – meaning, for once, she could take a back seat.
“I was absolutely thrilled and honoured to be a plus one,” Kylie laughed on the red carpet. “It was beautiful – I loved it!”
The couple have been dating since February and celebrated Kylie’s 50th in May together – a year after she split from ex-fiance Joshua Sasse, amid rumours of his infidelity.
