Kim Kardashian divides fans after launching business empire for daughter North, 9

Kim Kardashian was slammed by fans online after it was revealed that she’d filed for four new trademarks for her nine year old daughter, North West.

Kim and her sisters, Khloe and Kourtney, were thrust into the spotlight by their mother, Kris Jenner, who did the same thing with her other daughters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

Since then, the Kardashian-Jenner family have become staples on the internet and in pop culture, and now it seems that Kim, 42, is pushing North in the same direction.

Kim shares North with her ex-husband, Kanye West, alongside their other kids, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, three.

According to The Sun, the Skims founder filed for four separate trademarks for various businesses, including skincare and toys.

The first of North’s upcoming projects is a beauty brand, much like her auntie’s, which will sell moisturisers, skin lotions, bubble baths and hair products.

North's beauty line also plans to expand into "skin serums, facial oils, body oils, bath and shower gels, bubble bath, body powders, cosmetics, fragrances, hair care preparations," and more.

The second trademark is for a toy brand where North will potentially sell doll accessories, action figures and bath toys.

The Keeping up with the Kardashians star also filed for a business in the advertising sector, while the fourth is in entertainment services.

On Reddit, some fans took issue with the entrepreneur's latest business venture as they argued that North should just “be a kid.”

"This is so disgusting. The poor kid is 9," one person wrote, while another agreed: "Let her be a kid for gods sake."

Someone else wrote: "Kim is literally kris 2.0 and that’s not a compliment."

"Is this real? Imo this is seriously not okay what is Kim thinking. No child should have a business let alone a millionaire child," a fourth chimed in.

Other fans argued that Kim is simply setting North up for her future in the hopes of finding her true calling early.

One person pointed out: "I'm guessing these trade marks are for when she’s older? there’s no way she’s starting a skin care line at her age lol.

"All of them [the Kardashians] have trademarked their kids names for similar things. It's not for now, it's most likely for when they’re older so their names aren't taken,” another said. "Since their names are universally known due to them being “Kardashian kids” they probably don’t want others to capitalize off their kids names when the kids themselves will likely want to use them for ventures when they’re older."

This isn’t the first time Kim has set up businesses for her kids, as seen in 2022 when she filed nine trademarks in her son Pslam’s name.

The three year old’s businesses included everything from clothing to strolling accessories, textiles to furniture.
