Katie Price returns to social media for Mother’s Day

Katie Price has made a surprise return to social media to share a touching tribute for Mother’s Day.

The former Loose Women host announced she was taking a break from Instagram in February following the tragic death of Caroline Flack and amid the crackdown on social media trolls.

After more than a month away from the platform, Katie reinstated her Instagram account on Sunday (22 March) to share a sweet photo with her five children – Harvey, 17, Junior, 14, Princess, 12, Jett, six, and Bunny, five.

The family are seen lying on the floor in a circle while holding hands and looking up at the camera.

In the caption, Katie addressed the coronavirus pandemic and said: ‘With everything going on in this crazy world right now, I just wanted to come on today to wish everybody a Happy Mother’s Day.

‘These are very strange times and I am so thankful to be spending the day with all 5 of my wonderful children. I know many people (including myself) weren’t able to see their mums today and my thoughts are with you all.’

She added: ‘Please stay safe everyone, follow the government’s advice, #stayhome and lets #Bekind to each other. Katie x.’

Just last week, the My Crazy Life star deleted her Instagram account seemingly opting for a more private life these days. Since going dark on social media, Katie has barely been spotted out except for a shopping trip in Brighton over the weekend.

Announcing her decision to quit Instagram on 17 February, Katie told her 2.1 million followers: ‘I’ve decided to take a break from this horrible media world.’

It came just two days after the death of Caroline Flack who died by suicide at the age of 40.

Referencing the Love Island presenter’s tragic death, Katie continued: ‘I’m absolutely heart broken..

‘I’m having a dramatic change in my life for the better. I don’t want to have to read or see anything in the press about me, my family & friends or my exes.

‘This has all got to stop! I’ll be back when I’m ready.’
