Audiences warmed to her during her 2004 stint on I'm a Celeb, where she met future husband Peter Andre, and she appeared to drop her Jordan persona and show audiences a softer side.

Katie, who is currently in a relationship with Carl Woods, recently revealed that her Jordan alter ego now makes her feel "sick".

The mum-of-five’s comments came as she admitted she had enjoyed her first sober Christmas since giving up alcohol.

In an interview with The Sun, she said: "I wrote a powerful letter because they make you do that to your demons.

"I don’t even think about doing it now. It makes me feel sick; I’ll be the best person now. What I mean is, I’m focused and back to normal."

"I’ve started working again and it’s going well. I’m happy and the kids have seen a difference.

"I used to love a Tia Maria and Coke on Christmas Day, or a porn star martini, and I didn’t even think about it.

Her home does not have any alcohol inside at all, as the star went on to explain: "There’s no alcohol in my house at all, we don’t drink. This is just the new normal for me.

"I look back to how I was, and I would never ever wish that on anyone. I never knew when I’d had enough and I’d become all exhibitionist — I don’t ever want to be like that again.

"I’ve grown, I’m stronger and I don’t need to run away or numb my emotions any more.

"It’s been a bad year for a lot of people, but for me it’s been a good year because I’ve met Carl and I sorted myself out."
