Caitlyn Jenner has been supporting pal Kate Garraway amid her husband Derek Draper’s ongoing health battle.
The 70-year-old and the Good Morning Britain host became friends when they were on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! together, and have since kept in touch.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star said that she was heartbroken over the ‘tragedy’ of Derek being hospitalised after contracting Covid-19.
She explained to Daily Star Online: ‘Kate, when she came home, her husband and coronavirus – it’s been a tragedy.’
Derek has been in the hospital for six months and is still in intensive care.
Although he no longer has coronavirus and is no longer in a medically-induced coma, Derek is in a minimum state of consciousness.
‘I talked to her the other day and as soon as we got on the phone, that voice of hers, I was like “oh my God, that voice of hers, it has a familiarity”,’ she continued.
Kate sadly had to celebrate her and Derek’s 15th wedding over FaceTime yesterday.
And while the host was unable to get to see him in person on their special day, she still marked the occasion with her family.
When appearing on Good Morning Britain yesterday, the 54-year-old said: ‘We did our best to make it special, so we had him on FaceTime and my mum and dad were on childcare duties overnight while I’m here so they were there as well, and the children.
‘We raised a glass to have the anniversary.’
On Thursday, she provided viewers with an update on Derek’s health, saying: ‘It’s very strange, I haven’t seen you in ages and so much happens in that couple of weeks there are so many seemingly positives and then plungings but actually, what I seem to forget, is that it’s just the same.
‘And what you have to think is as well, at least he is still here with me, it’s a flicker and a bad day but you just have to keep ongoing.’
