James Jordan heartbroken as his dad is hospitalised after stroke — but he can’t visit

James Jordan has heartbreakingly opened up on not being able to visit his dad after he was hospitalised after having a stroke.

The 41 year old took to social media over the weekend to reveal the devastating news, saying he wanted to be with him to hold his hand.

Writing to his 271,000 Twitter followers, the former Strictly Come Dancing star wrote: "I have a broken heart again as my dad has been rushed back to hospital after suffering another stroke.

"I would love to go & see him & hold his hand but no-one can…Or go and hug my mum."

He went on to hit out at people who are not adhering to government self-isolation guidelines, continuing: "Yet people think it's ok to go to parks to sunbathe etc…Stay at home you selfish idiots!!"

James' sister also took to social media to reply: "We'll all be together soon! Our dad is strong," with Ola Jordan's husband responding: "Love you sis".

Fans were quick to rally around the Dancing On Ice winner, with one writing: "Darling am so sorry for you and sending you all of our love and prayers".

A second added: "Oh no your poor Dad that's just awful. I wish your Dad all the best, he will be in my thoughts & prayers really hope he will pull through this. Sending all my love & hugs to you & all your family."

With a third commenting: "Sending prayers for your dad. Lost our gran last week and can’t even give her the send off she deserves. I agree some people need to wise up and stay indoors! Stay strong & stay safe."

In happier news, James recently welcomed his first child with wife Ola — a daughter named Ella.
