Eddie Van Halen is being honored with a mural outside the Guitar Center in Hollywood.
Artist Robert Vargas has completed a large portrait of the late Van Halen guitarist, which will officially be unveiled on his birthday on January 26.
“We’re really excited about doing that on that day and really giving it to the world,” Vargas explained. “This will be the premiere Eddie Van Halen mural in the States, really, but especially here in Hollywood where they made their bones.”
Van Halen died in October after a battle with cancer.
“I’ll be painting this, 10am -6pm, Thursday thru Sun, Jan 17th. You can cruise by outside and watch me create this epic mural from your car or you can tune-in to the live stream here, everyday at 4pm. I will be blasting the entire catalog as I paint!” Vargas said last week.
