BBC Breakfast: Dan Walker struggles to remember email address
BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, 43, has hit back at a Twitter user who criticised him for taking to social media to ask for advice and recommendations, as he and his wife Sarah Walker are considering “embracing the future” by investing in an electric car and a home charging point. It came after the host penned in view of his 673,000 followers: “Hello twitter.
“Anyone got any helpful advice / recommendations when it comes to home charging points for electric cars?
“We are thinking about embracing yeh future.”(sic)
Many fans rushed to the comments section of Dan’s post to offer their thoughts on which home charging options he should take a look at.
One person suggested “Zappi if you have solar panels”.

Another added: “Go all the way Dan. Solar panels or solar roof tiles, powerwall, electric car. Mr Tesla can he use the car battery to power the house as well as the powerwall?”
“Depends how you think you’ll use the vehicle. If you don’t use a lot of battery each day and don’t need it full charged every day, just use a normal 3-point socket to keep it trickled up,” a third person commented.
However, one Twitter user was less than impressed and accused Dan of “looking for a company to come and provide his option for free” by sharing his query about the environmentally friendly cars on social media.
They wrote: “Dan – most of us do a search on the internet for this info and then decide.
“You decide not to….looking for a company to come and provide your option for free. Shameless.”
Dan was quick to respond and insisted he didn’t have an ulterior motive behind his post.
He hit back: “Absolute garbage sir. It has actually been really helpful.
“Lots of advice from those who have installed their own or had good / bad experiences.

“Try not to see the negative in it.”
Elsewhere, the dad-of-three opened up about his heavy workload, as he fronts Football Focus, Final Score and The NFL Show for the BBC alongside BBC Breakfast.
Dan spoke out after he fronted his slot on Breakfast on Wednesday and later that evening presented Match Of The Day.
A Twitter user questioned: “@mrdanwalker aren’t you knackered from hosting @BBCBreakfast this morning and then @BBCMOTD this evening?”
As viewers tune in to Breakfast at 6am, Dan and his co-star Louise Minchin have already been awake for the best part of three hours.
The broadcaster then addressed how he coped with juggling all of his roles in one day.
Dan replied to the social media user: “I grabbed a power hour of kip this afternoon.
“Ready for action.”
