Celebrity MasterChef fans say Danny was ‘robbed’ as winner is announced in final

Lisa Snowdon has been crowned the winner of this year's Celebrity Masterchef, beating former McFly singer Danny Jones and All Saints' Melanie Blatt.

English television and radio presenter stormed her way through the competition as she impressed the judges, Greg Wallace and John Torode.

Upon winning the competition, Lisa said: “I’m honestly so blown away.

“It’s such a life-changing experience. I feel like this isn’t real!

“I just can’t believe it. I couldn’t have wanted to win something that meant more to me than this.

“I can’t wait to tell my mum, my dad and my nephew. I am on cloud nine. I love it… I LOVE IT!”

Whilst some were thrilled about Lisa's win, others felt that Danny had been "robbed" in the final, with one person tweeting: "Omg Danny was Robbed #celebritymasterchef".

Lisa beat 20 celebrity hopefuls to the finals of the show, after five full-on weeks of heats, semi-finals, and the final week of culinary challenges.

Her winning menu was a starter of poached rhubarb and pan-fried mackerel, followed by the main course of duck breast with mushrooms and cavolo nero, and a chocolate tart to end things on a sweet note.

Praising Lisa's cooking skills, John Torode said: “Lisa throughout this competition has taken the everyday and elevated it into something special.

“This final she dared to do something that was going to be a gamble, and the gamble paid off.

“Her food is fantastic.”

Gregg Wallace echoed his sentiments as he added: “Faint heart never lifts a MasterChef title and that is why Lisa is our Celebrity MasterChef champion.”
