Bakayoko ‘aims dig’ at Chelsea with controversial Twitter activity

Tiemoue Bakayoko has endured a terrible run of form since his big-money move to Chelsea and was immediately sent packing by Maurizio Sarri on loan to AC Milan.

It hasn’t worked out well initially with the Rossoneri either, with the Italians even considering sending him back to the Blues.

A £40m flop, Bakayoko failed to endear himself to Chelsea fans during a tough time last season, and that criticism only intensified this weekend.

Following the 2-2 draw with Manchester United, Bakayoko made a careless decision to ‘like’ a post on Twitter.

It was from compatriot and former Monaco team-mate Anthony Martial, who dazzled at Stamford Bridge by scoring a brace.

The United star posted a picture of himself celebrating scoring for the Red Devils and pointing to the club badge.

Accompanying the picture was three red circle emojis and the club’s official Twitter handle.

Bakayoko ‘liked’ the tweet, which has now caused a stir. And whilst it’s not the biggest sin in the world, it was misguided considering his current situation and who Martial succeeded against.

The 24-year-old has since ‘unliked’ the tweet, but not before a number of Blues fans took issue, whilst United fans miraculously became fans of the player.

Perhaps there is some bitterness from Bakayoko at the lack of opportunity to impress under Sarri following a tough season of transition from Ligue 1.

Bakayoko will hope to shine for Milan on Sunday, if afforded the chance to do so by manager Gennaro Gattuso.

Milan take on fierce rivals Inter in the city’s derby, sitting 11th, with the Nerazzurri third.

Bakayoko has started just twice this term, both in the Europa League, vs Dudelange and Olympiacos.

Milan have the option to make Bakayoko’s move permanent, though it seems unlikely, at least on the terms set last summer, they will do so given the unimpressive start.
