A concert by Ashanti which was scheduled for later this month at Stony Brook University in New York, has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales.
Bossip reported that the “Foolish” singer’s “Back to the Brook” concert was canceled after selling only 24 tickets.
“As an organization, we do our best to host programs for students while providing diversity and inclusion. However, we have struggled to execute certain aspects. With only a week before the concert, only 24 tickets were sold to students,” the Brook university said a statement explaining the cancellation.
Ashanti was a replacement for Teyana Taylor, who was initially supposed to headline the event, but withdrew two weeks before the show.
The organizers reportedly didn’t get enough time to promote Ashanti as the headliner, hence the poor response.
