Armie Hammer has issued a statement about a series of alleged DMs about his sex life that were posted on social media. Armie spoke out about the DMs after rumors hit the internet that he’d been dropped from the upcoming film Shotgun Wedding.
In a statement to Variety, the Hollywood Reporter, and Deadline, the actor called the claims “bullshit” and explained that he stepped away from the movie to be with his kids amid the “spurious online attacks” against him. Cosmo has reached out to Armie’s rep for comment.
A production spokesman confirmed this version of events to People, saying, “Given the imminent start date of Shotgun Wedding, Armie has requested to step away from the film and we support him in his decision.”
According to Variety and Page Six, the unverified DMs in question feature the actor allegedly telling a woman he wants to “drink [her] blood” and is “100% a cannibal,” alongside more graphic descriptions. Meanwhile, Page Six claims Hollywood insiders are “rattled” by the messages, which have not yet been verified as legitimate.
