Gospel and soul’s biggest names came out to pay a musical tribute to the late Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, at the 2018 American Music Awards on Tuesday.

An uplifting performance directed by Rickey Minor got the audience on their feet.

Gladys Knight, CeCe Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Ledisi and Mary Mary sang gospel songs that Franklin had become synonymous with.

The audience stood up in honor of the late legend when “Amazing Grace” and “Climbing Higher Mountains,” were played.

The iconic singer, who had long been suffering from cancer, died at 76 in Detroit in August.
