A Place In The Sun presenter Leah Charles-King took to Twitter to reveal that the experience was “incredibly humbling” as she received an IV iron transfusion whilst surrounded by “brave chemo patients” receiving treatment for cancer.
She posted a photo and a short video of her hooked up to an IV to her Twitter account.
The star wrote: “(Currently having IV iron at hospital…) surrounded by brave chemo patients and it’s incredibly humbling. Life, ey…”
Charles-King did not elaborate on why she required the treatment, which the NHS explains is one of the quickest ways to raise the body’s iron levels.
The NHS adds that the infusion process usually takes around 30 minutes to one hour to complete and the patient is usually able to go home around half an hour after the IV has been administered.
