House of the Dragon official trailer
It’s been 12 years since George RR Martin last published a novel in his A Song of Ice and Fire series.
Since then the Game of Thrones TV show has come and gone, with its creators having had to rely on plot outlines for the last two books that are yet to be written.
Four years on from the HBO series finale and Martin is still working on penultimate book The Winds of Winter.
After which, the almost 75-year-old has A Dream of Spring to go to complete his magnum opus.
In the meantime, the writer has shared a blog update on his progress, a couple of months since the last.
