He announced his split from wife of almost 20 years Alex in November 2017 and has been hitting the headlines with his new girlfriend Summer Monteys-Fullam since then- so what else do we know about the king of cakes? Here's the lowdown on him…
Who is Paul Hollywood?
The 52-year-old is a baker and best-selling author and was born in Wallasey in Cheshire.
His passion for food is certainly in his roots, as he was the son of bakery proprietor, John F. Hollywood.
Paul’s grandfather also had a similar occupation, as he worked as head baker at The Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool.
When he’s not in the kitchen, car aficionado Hollywood enjoys taking part in motor racing.
The 5ft 7in baker competed in Le Mans in 2015, as well as winning first in class at the GT Cup with partner Johnny Adam.
He has also starred in his own TV show on Channel 4, A Baker's Life, a spin-off from his latest book.
Have Paul and wife Alexandra split?
Paul Hollywood and his wife Alexandra announced news of their split on November 20, 2017: "It is with sadness that we have decided to separate.
"Our focus continues to be the happiness of our son, and we would ask the press and public to allow us privacy as a family during this very difficult time."
One insider told The Sun following news of the split: "The truth is they’ve worked really hard to salvage their relationship but just couldn’t recover from the damage that had been done.
“The more famous Paul has become, the more attention he has been getting, and that has put a huge strain on the marriage."
Paul met his wife Alexandra in Cyprus in 1996 while she was working as a diving instructor at the five-star hotel where he was head baker.
They married in that country in 1998 and had a son in October 2001, called Josh.
Paul and Alexandra came close to divorcing in 2013 after reports spread that he'd been enjoying a romance with his American Baking Competition co-host Marcela Valladolid.
At the Pride of Britain Awards in London at the beginning of November 2017, Paul was pictured sharing an intimate kiss with ex-Bake Off winner Candice Brown.
Who is his barmaid lover Summer Monteys-Fullam?
Summer Moneys-Fullam, 23, was a barmaid at his local pub, The Duke William, in Ickham, Kent.
She grew fairly close to Paul and received a lot of stick from her friends because of their courtship.
It emerged that the pair had a date at London hotel The Dorchester where Summer, who is 30 years younger than Paul, was wined and dined.
A source said: “Paul and Summer have struck up a close friendship — the age gap between them doesn’t seem to be a problem.
“Summer is only 22 but is very mature for her age. She has told friends that she believes that they could, in the future, become a couple.”
Her friends would post pictures of Hollywood to her social media from when he wore the Nazi uniform.
Summer has since quit her job at the Duke William over her colleagues and friends taking the mickey.
On 31 March 2018, The Sun exclusively revealed that Paul had whisked his 22-year-old love away on a romantic getaway to Mauritius where they stayed at a £1,000-a-night villa.
However, Alex reportedly disputes that the TV presenter only started a relationship with barmaid Summer Monteys-Fullam after the marriage breakdown.
She now plans to name Summer in the court showdown over Paul’s £10 million fortune.
What is Paul Hollywood’s baking experience?
After quitting his course at the Wallasey School of Art, Paul was employed in his dad’s bakery in York.
He worked in a number of different pastry, bread and cake outlets before he was promoted to head baker.
Hollywood has held this role in countless prestigious hotels, including The Dorchester, Chester Grosvenor and Spa and the Cliveden Hotel.
The experienced baker shares many of his recipes and tips on his official website.
What is Paul Hollywood’s net worth?
The Sun exclusively revealed that Paul Hollywood is worth an eye-watering £10million.
He has almost £8.8million of assets in his new company HJP Media LLP, latest accounts show.
The no-nonsense judge has also raked in a further £1.2milion in a company called Paul Hollywood Limited.
New GBBO expert Prue Leith has revealed that she’s earning THREE TIMES more than former judge Mary Berry.
Following the news that Hollywood has probably signed an equally lucrative pay-cheque, the star has recently invested in a £1.45million mansion.
Why did Paul Hollywood leave the BBC to remain as a GBBO judge?
Some fans were NOT happy with Paul Hollywood when he announced he would be leaving the BBC behind to take-up work on the Channel 4 revamp.
He clapped back at some Bake Off fans for villainising him over the decision, but it seems that even Mary Berry was a little irritated by it.
Despite this, a friend of Paul told The Sun that it was Paul’s ambition that encouraged him to take the new job.
The source said: “Paul is one of the most driven people you will ever meet, and he was never going to go along with the rest of them at his own personal expense.
“He knows his association with Bake Off is the main thing that makes him marketable. He was never going to walk away."
How did Paul respond to the Nazi uniform photo revelations?
The Sun on Sunday revealed pictures of Paul posing in a Nazi uniform in a village pub in Kent before heading to a party.
In the pictures, taken before he joined Bake Off, Paul was wearing a red swastika armband as part of his outfit.
Responding to the publication of the images, Paul said he was "devastated" to have caused any offence, but insisted he and pals were dressing as 'Allo 'Allo characters en-route to a themed party.
In a statement, he said: "I am absolutely devastated if this caused offence to anyone, the picture was taken 14 years ago en route to a Comedy TV Shows Themed New Year's Eve Party and a group of us dressed up as characters from the classic TV show 'Allo 'Allo.
"Everyone who knows me, knows I am incredibly proud of the efforts of those, including my own grandfather, who fought against the Nazis during the war."
