Love Island viewer thinks Sherif was replaced by a CAP the morning after he was booted out of the villa

LOVE Island fans hilariously noticed that Sherif Lanre was replaced by a CAP after he was axed from the villa.

The 20-year-old was mysteriously booted out the villa on Tuesday after just nine days for breaking the rules.

But pictures of the bedroom after his departure show that his hat was left on his pillow as if show bosses tried to make out he was just asleep in his bed and hiding under the duvet.

An eagle-eyed viewer took to Twitter to point out a random cap which could be seen floating on top of the covers in several of the bedroom scenes over the past few days.

"Just letting you all know that the morning Sherif left Love Island, they replaced him with a cap – totally normal," joked the fan.

In the photos, the fan has circled the cap which lingers on Sherif's pillow next to the rest of the islanders.

Racking up over 1,000 likes and and 186 retweets, it seems that other fans of the ITV2 show were impressed by the viewer's detective skills as they began tagging their friends.

"Need to get to the bottom of this," replied one.

While another added: "If the theory about him being kicked out for being lazy is true… that could actually be him under the hat."

This isn't the first time that fans have caught a glimpse of Sherif either, as fans were treated to a glimpse of his arm on Wednesday.

The same fan pointed out with a slow motion video the split second where his hand appeared next to Anna in the bedroom.

"They were both there when they went to bed, as you can see Sherif’s hand at the bottom of the screen (check the dedication here with the slow-mo hahaha)," the fan explained.

Meanwhile, ITV2 still haven't announced what happened to the Londoner.

A Love Island spokesman said earlier this week: "After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa."

And Sherif said: "In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.

"I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.

"I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."
