Ben's assassin hits young child Will in EastEnders horror

Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) almost killed Billy’s (Perry Fenwick) young son tonight after an assassination attempt went badly wrong in EastEnders – and surely now he is beginning to question his own behaviour and how far he is prepared to go in his bitter quest for revenge?

He had taken a hit out on Billy because, in his mind, he knew way too much about his plot against Phil (Steve McFadden). Offering a shady killer a wad of cash, he made sure he knew who he was targeting.

But when Ben realised that Will had gone out on an errand with Will, he was horrified and raced to try and stop the terrible murder from being committed. As Billy and Will stood talking, a moped approached with a man pulling a gun out of his jacket pocket.

When Ben suddenly screamed at Billy to look out, the rider was thrown and he swerved the bike, knocking will to the ground before speeding off. Honey (Emma Barton) soon came round the corner to find her little boy out cold but Billy assured both mother and son that everything was going to be okay.

As Ben watched Will be loaded into an ambulance, Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) eyed him suspiciously. And the police then came to talk to him as he had been the one to call an ambulance.

As the police prepare to find out what happened, will the assassin be caught and drop Ben in it? Or can Ben lie his way out of this one and prove to his family that he was trying to save Will, not harm him?

It remains to be seen whether Ben has blown his final chance of being amid the family in the worst way possible – viewers will have to wait and see what he does next.
