Star Wars fans have freaked out as Episode IX has been named The Rise Of Skywalker and we were even blessed with a new teaser trailer.
The Star Wars gods are on our side today.
And, with the dramatic trailer which sees our faves return for one final time in the current trilogy, fans were drawn in by a mysterious and chilling laugh.
Many claim it’s none other than Emperor Palpatine – despite the character supposedly having fallen to his death in The Last Jedi.
They meant it when they said ‘no one’s ever really gone.’
We have so many questions.
‘Man when i heard the palpatine laugh a tear came down like this is the one,’ one fan wrote.
Another added: ‘I legit was not expecting to hear Palpatine’s laugh at the end of the new Star Wars trailer.’
Summing up everyone’s thoughts, one more excited viewer added: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER!!!!! That’s the Death Star on the last shot of the trailer! That’s Palpatine’s laugh!!!! WTF!!!’
We absolutely cannot deal.
Despite some fans being absolutely convinced, nothing’s been confirmed yet, with others claiming that the chilling laugh could have come from Supreme Leader Snoke.
We have no idea what to think TBH.
The teaser trailer saw Rey (Daisy Ridley) returning to battle, armed with her light saber, and quickly got emotional as she was shown hugging Leia (played by the late Carrie Fisher).
Meanwhile, others saw the Death Star return in the two minute teaser, and some fans are convinced they heard the Han Solo and Leia theme.
We’ll be mopping our tears up off the floor, then.
Describing the long-awaited film at the Episode IX panel, director JJ Abrams said: ‘This movie doesn’t pick up immediately after the last movie. Some time has gone by, this movie is an adventure the group goes on together.
‘One of the great things about the movie was the dynamic of the characters, they’re just the most wonderful together.’
Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) are all back for the finale of the Skywalker saga, as are Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux) and Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata).
Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker releases in cinemas on 19 December.
