Former Three Tenors opera star Placido Domingo in sexual harassment storm

Opera star Plácido Domingo has strongly denied claims of sexual harassment from several women.

Eight singers and a dancer have made allegations against the Spanish tenor , 78, dating back to as long as 30 years ago.

Mezzo-soprano Patricia Wulf, who sang with the married star at the Washington Opera, claimed he repeatedly propositioned her and that she feared turning him down could hit her career.

Another woman, who was 23 when she met him while with the Los Angeles Opera chorus, alleged late-night phone calls over three years from 1988, and “uncomfortably affectionate” physical contact.

She claimed she felt she had no option but to give in to his advances.

Six other women allege he made them uncomfortable with his propositions.

One accused him of putting his hand down her skirt and three said he forced kisses in a dressing room, hotel room and at a lunch meeting.

Dozens in the opera world have also claimed they saw him being sexually inappropriate towards younger women.
